Children and adolescents with OCD
What is this complicated thingy? It's okay to have a worry every now and again, that happens to everyone. You get that feeling in your stomach before a match or a test where it feels like you have become home to millions of fluttering butterflies having a party. If you have OCD, though, you can't stop worrying which makes you want to do things to stop the worry. The thoughts or pictures in your head are the 'O' in OCD and it stands for obsessions. This is when you can't stop thinking or worrying about something like germs or the safety of your family. These obsessions may make you want to do a repetitive behaviour or thought pattern and this is the 'C' in OCD which stands for compulsions. You may feel the need to count to a lucky number, check something, wash your hands or put things in an order to make the worry go away. OCD is like a little bee that buzzes round and round your head but, with help, the buzzing won't be so loud. Some Common OCD WorriesDanger
